Microsoft Student Accelerator Program Australia 2020

Welcome to MSA Australia official GitHub repository. Please note that all the instructions about MSA will be uploaded to this GitHub repository. However, don’t forget to like our Facebook page and join our Facebook group to stay up to date.

MSA 2020 Handbook can be found here

MSA Australia 2020 will cover 3 main topics:

  1. AI & Advanced Analytics
  2. Cloud Computing with Azure
  3. Web App & APIs

There would be one project for each topic. The detail of each project would be announced shortly in the respective GitHub Documentation.

Microsoft Azure for Students

An Azure account is required to start the program. If you do not have one, please sign up for a free account (no credit card needed), and you will get $100 credit as well as 12 months of free Azure services. Find out more information here.

Bootcamps & Supporting Workshops

Bootcamps

There are several bootcamps that will be run on Microsoft Teams.

  1. AI & Advanced Analytics
    • 13 April 2020 (Low/No code Approach; slides can be found here)
    • 14 April 2020 (Coding Approach; slides can be found here)
  2. Cloud Computing with Azure
    • 20th May 2020 (slides can be found [here])
  3. Web App & APIs
    • End of July 2020 (slides can be found [here])

Supporting Workshops

The MSA 2020 program will also host a series of complimenting workshops:

  1. Git & GitHub
  2. DevOps and Project Workflow
  3. Presentation and Soft Skills

To ensure all the bootcamps & workshops to be run smoothly, please mute your microphone as we will have a Q&A session at the end of the bootcamps.

MSA Assessments

Each bootcamp will have one assessment to complete. Please read through the criteria on the respective GitHub documentation to get more information about respective assessment.

Microsoft Learn

Completing the modules on the Microsoft learn platform would significantly help you get better understanding of the topics covered in this program. The MSP’s will outline which modules you have to do in the respective GitHub Documentaion.

MSA Certificate

In order to get MSA certificate, you must:

  1. Pass at least two projects in this program; and
  2. Complete the related Microsoft Learn modules (The MSP’s will outline which modules you have to do in the respective GitHub Documentaion).

Top MSA Students

The top students with the most amount of points will be mentored by Microsoft professionals to participate in the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2020.

We also have exclusive prizes up for grab for the top students. Based on the points accumulated, while top students can earn exclusive Microsoft swags and goodies, there are special prizes for the top 3 participants:

  1. 1st place: Surface Book 2
  2. 2nd place: Xbox One X
  3. 3rd place: Surface Headphone
